Lately I have been dyeing some one-of-a-kind colorways on my sock yarn BFL-Steps.
For socks you only need 1 skein and it’s always fun to knit – and wear! – a pair that is completely unique.
Take a look at my two latest OOAK- sock yarns here. You can find more in the webshop. Now, I’ll go and knit some special socks for myself.. 🙂
This is the November ’13 Fiber Club color way. Named “Uncle Kurt” because of its manly colors. I can clearly envision a subtle, yet quite lively, scarf (or even a sweater) created out of this fiber, the perfect handmade gift for a dear uncle, grandfather, son or husband.
The GarnGalleriet Fiber Club is well established by now and has loyal members/subscribers. They receive a new color way each month and I find great pleasure in creating (hopefully) pleasing club-packages.
This month I have a special offer for new Clubbies. A 20% discount!!
This is how you get your 20% off:
If you want to order Fiber Club Classic: use the code CLASSICNOVEMBER.
If you want to order Fiber Club Light: use the code LIGHTNOVEMBER.
If you want to order Fiber Club Silk Hankies: use the code SILKNOVEMBER.
This discount is only available when ordering through the webshop, using PayPal, only in November and only until Clubs are full!
If you have any problems with PayPal, please get in touch with me om email: birthe@garngalleriet.dk
Winter is approaching. Leaves are falling now, and it is getting colder. The motherly urge to keep my offspring warm and cosy has resulted in these cabled mittens:
My teenage daughter is very happy about them! I have made a pattern to download (in Danish only, for the time being) – check out the “pattern”-tab in the top menu.
The mittens are knitted using two strands of Opus BFL yarn. Wonderfully soft and warm, and a quick and easy project!
I dyed up a batch of Opus-yarn (and some spinning fiber too) in one of my favorite colourways last week: “Summer Garden”:
“Summer Garden”. Warm reds, golden, greens and earthy browns.
I dyed 12 hanks of Opus (it’s a 100% BFL-wool yarn, about fingering/light worsted weight, soft and lustrous) using a special procedure so that all hanks are different, but of course will go perfectly together in a project! 🙂
Mostly I’m dyeing fiber, not yarn. But lately that has changed, mainly because of my dyeing of the wonderful Yorkshire and Buble yarns for BC Garn.
But I have decided to dye some yarns for my own webshop also. Of course noting like the colourways I do for BC Garn, but my own palettes, like this one:
Blue/lavender/golden colourway on BFL-yarn. Sold..
